“We learnt so much in six weeks.” MARIA
“There was a great variety of meditations. Eileen is a wonderful teacher, making everyone feel welcome and relaxed.” ROBYN
“It’s great to have a set place to go once a week to do nothing but feel good about yourself and the world around you.” MAX, photography student (and a regular Meditation Pathways participant)

You’ll look younger
Stress, insomnia, headaches, anxiety, pain and high blood pressure often prompt people to come to Meditation Pathways. And, of course, strategies to ease these health concerns are explored during our courses.
While the health benefits of meditation are well documented, research has also shown that meditating has the potential to make you look five to 12 years younger than your chronological age.
According to the ancient spiritual masters, when you mind is at rest during meditation, your body’s vital energies (also known as ‘chi’) pass through the cells and tissues of your skin, enveloping them with vitality and life essence. Therefore, meditating regularly assists in cleansing and rejuvenating your skin.
What another great reason to meditate!
Young meditators
Delightful 12-year-old twin girls, Miri and Tess, enjoyed my free meditation session this week – and meeting them prompted me to reflect on other youngsters who have attended my courses.
Georgia (pictured opposite) and I exchanged a steady flow of emails so she could gain information about my meditation course and then organise enrolments for herself and her mum.
One evening, 10-ten-old Anna came to a lesson with her mum, Valerie, to see what meditation was all about and then stayed for the rest of the series.
About two years ago, during the January school holidays, I had numerous inquiries for a meditation course for girls anxious about starting secondary school. Their concerns were about making friends, gaining acceptance, becoming familiar with the new school and being able to do the work.
The Meditation Pathways sessions with these articulate, intelligent and creative girls included strategies for easing anxiety, creative visualisations and short meditations. Along the way, they enjoyed the opportunity to express their feelings and discover how to manage their fears.
My recent encounter with Miri and Tess is the impetus for offering a specially designed meditation program for this age group. (My first career was a teacher so it is interesting and invaluable to be drawing upon those same skills now.)
I plan to run a four or six week course for youngsters in year 6.
The sessions will comprise enjoyable and imaginative learning experiences that will enable participants to gain an insight into key life skills – the ability to relax, release tension, enjoy ‘quiet reflective’ moments during their busy day and gain an understanding of themselves and their world.
